- Be grateful for what you have
- Be appreciative
- Learn to see the positives and not just the negatives
This quote is teaching us content. Content simply means to be grateful for what you have. If you look at the world, there are those who have unfortunate living circumstances and live their best life while there are those who are beyond fortunate yet living pointless lives. The reason for this is lack of content. Those poor people are happy because they have understood what they have, not what they lack, while more fortunate individuals pay attention only to what they lack, not what they have. It comes down to your way of thinking. The quote “It is in our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light” is a good representation of the poor people’s situation. It is not that they are oblivious or stupid enough to not see what they lack but they choose to not focus on the negatives but rather the positives. Once you realize what you have, what you lack becomes of no concern to you. In contrast, the more fortunate individuals cannot comprehend what they have, only what they lack which is why they always hunger for more. In conclusion, acknowledge everything you have and that will help you when it comes to differentiating what it is you want and what it is you need.
